The pressure of a sample of gas is dependent upon the volume of the gas. Increasing the volume decreases the pressure. The two quantities are inversely proportional to one another.

For a sealed container held at a constant temperature, there is a clear relationship between the pressure of the gas and the volume. The relationship is described in the graphic below. Study the graphic and use it to answer this question.
