Name That Motion

The Name That Motion Concept Builder is a concept-building tool that challenges the learner to match 11 verbal descriptions to 11 corresponding animations. Learners observe an animation and use an understanding of velocity and acceleration concepts to find the appropriate description that matches the motion. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 11 situations. Use of this Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows teachers to track student progress.

Users are encouraged to open the Concept Builder and explore. There is no need for an activity sheet for this Concept Builder. However, the 11 different verbal descriptions are available on a separate page. View Verbal Descriptions (Teachers Only).

Learners and Instructors may also be interested in viewing the accompanying Notes page. Technical information, teaching suggestions, and related resources that complement this Concept Builder are provided on the Notes page. View Notes.

And finally, we now offer a short 2.5-minute video tailored to the Concept Builder.
