The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.

To be successful on this question, you will have to think about the meaning of the statement: the acceleration of an object is inversely proportional to the mass of the object. If the net force is increased by a factor of 2, then the acceleration is decreased by a factor of 2. If the net force is decreased by a factor of 3, then the acceleration is increased by a factor of 3. The phrase by a factor of refers to the multiply and divide operations. The original acceleration value will have to be changed by multiplying or dividing it by the same factor that the acceleration was changed.
