Oxidation States
The Oxidation States Concept Builder assesses students' ability to determine the oxidation number of an element in a species. Each question involves the same task - a formula is presented and students must determine the oxidation number of one or more elements present within the formula. There are a total of 60 questions in this Concept Builder. They are organized into 16 different Question Groups and spread across the three difficulty levels. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 16 situations. Questions in the same Question Group include identical types of formulae. The built-in feedback and help makes this Concept Builder a great study tool. When used with our Task Tracker program, it is a great tool for use as an in-class or out-of-class assigned task.
Users are encouraged to open the Concept Builder and explore. There is no need for an activity sheet for this Concept Builder. However, the 16 different groups of questions can be printed. View
