Momentum and Its Conservation
TheMomentum and Collisions Galleryfeatures photos of billiard collisions, train crashes, bicycle accidents, boxing, air table collisions, baseball, football, martial arts, bowling, Newton's cradle and more that illustrate the concepts associated with momentum, impulse and momentum conservation. This gallery coordinates with Lessons 1 and 2 of the Momentum and Its Conservation chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.

Lesson 1: The Impulse-Momentum Change Theorem
Lesson 1 discusses the concept of momentum and the loss and gain of it in situations in which impulses are experienced. Items in the group's pool include strobe photos of bullets piercing water balloons, grapes and egss, photos of athletes (pitchers and batters in baseball, tennis players, ping pong players, boxers), meteor craters, bumper cars, and martial arts experts, and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 1 of the Momentum and Its Conservation chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.
