Free Fall

The Free Fall Concept Builder is a concept-building tool that provides the learner with multiple practice modes for understanding the conceptual and mathematical nature of the velocity and acceleration of a free-falling object. There are three activities in the Concept Builder. The Describing Free Fall activity focuses student attention on what changes (if any) in the values and direction of the velocity and acceleration vectors are occurring over the course of the trajectory. The Speedometer activity challenges students to identify the location that an object would have a specified speed if given the initial launch speed. The It's About Time activity provides a speed value at a given time of the trajectory and challenges students to determine the time at which two other speeds would exist. Question-specific help is provided for each question. The built-in score-keeping makes this Concept Builder a perfect candidate for a classroom activity.
