Physics Classroom is making strides to make our site accessible to everyone. Our site contains 6 navigation areas. The Primary, Secondary, and Page Level navigations have a screen reader version of their nav structure that allows using the left and right keys to navigate sibling navigation items, and up or down keys to navigate parent or child navigation items. The others can be navigated using tabs. The Primary Navigation handles the first 2 levels of site pages. The Secondary (which is not always available) handles the 3rd and 4th level of structure. The Page level navigation allows you to navigate the current page's headings quickly. The Header Navigation contains the Light/Dark Mode toggle, Search, Notifications and account login. The Breadcrumb Navigation contains the breadcrumb of the current page. If the current page has a breadcrumb, you can get to it by skipping to the content and tabbing in reverse (shift plus tab). The Footer Navigation contains links such as Privacy, Contact, about and terms. Some resources contain an Audio Player that can be activated by holding down the T key for 3 seconds, and then using K to pause and resume. While not every area of Physics Classroom is usable purely from keyboard and screen reader, we are committed to continue work on making this possible. Concept Builders - Kinematics

A Concept-Builder is an interactive questioning module that presents learners with carefully crafted questions that target various aspects of a concept. Each Concept Builder focuses the learner's attention upon a discrete learning outcome. Questions target that outcome from a variety of angles using multiple difficulty levels or varying activities. The following Concept Builders target concepts in 1-Dimensional Kinematics.

Activities

Acceleration

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To identify whether an object accelerates or not, to determine the direction of the acceleration, and to determine the acceleration value if given simple numerical data.

Distance vs. Displacement

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To analyze a multi-stage motion and to determine the distance and the displacement for that motion.

Dots and Graphs

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To analyze a dot diagram and match the motion that it describes to the appropriate position-time or velocity-time graph.​

Match That Graph

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To analyze the position-time graph for an object's motion and to match it to the corresponding velocity-time graph ... or vice versa.

Motion Diagrams

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To construct the motion diagram for a given motion, showing properly-spaced dots, velocity vectors, and acceleration vectors.

Name That Motion

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To use an understanding of the language of kinematics in order to accurately match an animation of a motion to the corresponding verbal description of that motion.

Position-Time Graphs - Conceptual Analysis

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To analyze a position-time graph and associate the graph features with motion characteristics of a moving object.

Position-Time Graphs - Numerical Analysis

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To analyze a position-time graph in order to determine the object’s disance traveled, displacement, and velocity.

Speed-Distance-Time

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To use the average speed, distance, time relationship to relate quantitative information to one another.

Velocity-Time Graphs

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To relate a verbal description of an object’s motion to the corresponding velocity-time graph representing the motion.

Which One Doesn't Belong?

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To interpret various representations of an object’s motion in order to identify which representation is not like the others.

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To identify the velocity-time graph that matches the verbal description given for an object’s motion.

Graph That Motion

🞋︎ Learning Goal: To use an understanding of the principles of kinematic graphing in order to accurately match an animation of a motion to the corresponding position-time graph or velocity-time graph of that motion.
