Concept Checker for It's All Uphill Simulation

Our Concept Checker for the It's All Uphill simulation consists of 20 questions organized into 5 Question Groups. Two of the Question Groups involve calculation of the amount of work. Students must correctly answer one question from each Question Group to earn the Trophy for this Concept Checker.

Like all our Concept Checkers, it is designed to be used as a follow-up to the use of the It's All Uphill Simulation. We recommend the use of our classroom-ready exercise with the simulation. The questions in this Concept Checker were inspired by the questions on that activity.

The Concept Checker targets student understanding of the following learning outcomes:
  • The student should be to calculate the amount of work done upon an object from knowledge of the force and the displacement.
  • The student should be able to idenitfy the effect that variations in incline angle have upon the amount of force needed and work done when moving a cart up the incline at a constant speed to the same height.
