Physics Classroom is making strides to make our site accessible to
everyone, and features many accessibility features.
Our site contains 6 navigation areas. The Primary, Secondary,
and Page Level navigations have a screen reader version of their nav
structure that allows using the left and right keys to navigate sibling
navigation items, and up or down keys to navigate parent or child
navigation items. The others can be navigated using tabs.
Within the main content, we leverage headers to provide in page or
in tool navigation.
Although we are still rebuilding our content to leverage these tools,
our images should have both short and verbose descriptions, the later
describing in great detail the image for those who cannot see. Any
formulas found within the images are often in the image figure below the image.
Equations and formulas are rendered using MathJax, which has both verbal,
braille (including nemath braille), and keyboard navigation within them.
Learn how to configure and leverage this for various screen readers on our
Equation Navigation Page.
While not every area of
Physics Classroom is usable purely from keyboard and screen reader, we
are committed to continue work on making this possible. If you have

SE1.
Action at a Distance Lab
Score
_____
Included, labeled and organized all parts of the lab report.
_____ / _____
_____
Data section includes clearly documented observations of interactions between the objects.
_____
Conclusion correctly and completely answers the question from the Purpose. The charges on the top triangle tape and the bottom rectangle tape are accurately stated; the supporting evidence is discussed.
SE2.
Sticky Tape Experiments Lab
Score
_____
Included, labeled and organized all parts of the lab report.
_____ / _____
_____
Data section includes the provided table; observations are reasonably accurate and the conclusions regarding the charge are consistent with the observations.
_____
Conclusion/Discussion provides a complete ranking of the materials studied. Evidence from the Data section is discussed to support all rankings. Suspicious and/or inconsistent results are discussed.
SE3.
Pop Can Induction Lab
Score
_____
Included, labeled and organized all parts of the lab report.
_____ / _____
_____
Data section includes diagrams showing the steps involved in the induction charging process of two connected pop cans; the charge on the object being used to polarize the system is shown; labels are given to the cans for the sake of a clear discussion. The test used to determine the charges on the cans are noted and the resulting charge is indicated. Documentation reveals a strong ability to experiment.
_____
Conclusion/Discussion thoroughly, accurately and clearly describes the induction process and the result of the process. Reveals understanding.
SE4.
Charging by Induction Lab
Score
_____
Included, labeled and organized all parts of the lab report.
_____ / _____
_____
Data section includes diagrams for each of the induction charging process; sufficient detail is included in the diagram. The tests used to determine the resulting charge are also included.
_____
Conclusion answers the question posed in the Purpose; answer is correct.
_____
Discussion of Results uses the observations from the Data section to explain the supporting evidence for the conclusions.
E6.
Coulomb’s Law Lab
Score
_____
Included, labeled and organized all parts of the lab report.
_____ / _____
_____
Data section includes an informative and well-labeled diagram of the experimental setup. Calculations of the force, the charge and the number of electrons are shown; work is systematic, labeled and organized; rationale behind each step is briefly identified; work is accurate.
_____
Conclusion answers the question posed in the Purpose; answer is correct.
SE5.
Electric Field Simulation
Score
_____
Included, labeled and organized all parts of the lab report.
_____ / _____
_____
Data section includes a table of data with column headings and units. Documentation reveals the ability to conduct a controlled experiment in order to measure the potential outcome of one variable on a target variable.
_____
Conclusion answers the question posed in the Purpose; answer is correct.
_____
Discussion of Results makes explicit reference to specific data in order to describe the supporting evidence for the effect or non-effect of each variable upon the electric field intensity.
