Polarization

The Polarization Concept Builder challenges the learner to think about how a charged object induces the movement of electrons within a nearby conducting object. There are 38 total questions that are organized into 19 different Question Groups and spread across three Activities. The three activities include Charge Separation, Charge Movement, and Induction. Activity 1 - Charge Separation challenges learners to think about how charge on a neutral conductor is separated into opposites by the presence of a nearby charged objects. In Activity 2 - Charge Flow, learners expand on the idea of charge separation by identifying the manner in which occurs - through the movement of electrons. And in Activity 3 - Induction, learners consider how a charged object would induce the movement of electrons into or out of a nearby neutral object when it is touched by a third object. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 19 situations. The built-in score-keeping makes this Concept Builder a perfect candidate for a classroom activity.
