Elemental Measures

The Elemental Measures Concept Builder provides students with some elemental book-keeping experience. Students will count the number of atoms of each element on the reactant and the product side of the equation. Then they will determine the mass of each element on both sides of the equation. What observations can be made form the calculations? There are three levels of difficulty with each level adding an additional element to the reaction. To complete a level, students must complete both the atomic scale analysis (# of atoms) and the macroscopic scale analysis (mass in grams).

A built-in number pad makes numerical entry very easy on mobile devices. Feedback is immediate and students can correct their incorrect answers. Help is provided for each difficulty level. Built-in score-keeping makes this Concept Builder a perfect candidate for a classroom activity (for Task Tracker users only).
