Oxidation States - Directions
Using the Oxidation States Concept Builder is quite simple. There are three difficulty levels. Each question involves the same task - identifying the oxidation state (i.e., oxidation number) of one or more elements as found in a formula. The formula is displayed and an oxidation state field is present for each element that you must determine the oxidation state of. Two arrows are located to the right of the field. Tapping on the Up or Down arrow button allows you to set the oxidation state. A tap on one of the buttons increments the value upward or downward by 1. Once a value for the oxidation state has been set for each element, a Check Answer button will be visible. When you are satisfied with your answer, then you can tap on the Check Answer button. Your answer will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated (visible for Task Tracker users only).
Your goal is to earn "Stars" and to complete one or more difficulty levels. Stars are earned when you show success on a particular question. If you miss a question then you will have to answer two similar questions correctly before earning a star. Once you show success on all the questions for a particular difficulty level, you will earn the trophy for that difficulty level.
