The Four Band Resistor
The Four-Band Resistor Interactive is an inquiry-based activity that provides students the challenge of determining the relationship between the colors of the bands on a 4-band resistor and the resistance value. Students tap on the bands of a graphite-resistor and set the colors of the four bands. Once all colors are determined, students can view the resistance in units of ohms and kiloohms. Modifications are easily made and the values of resistance are updated.
