Quantum Mechanics - Directions

Using the Quantum Mechanics Concept Builder is quite simple. There are three different activities. Each activity has a different emphasis and works differently than the others. In the first activity - Matching Pairs - you must match eight different phrases, diagrams, terms, or descriptions to one another. There are two sets of Matching Pair exercises that display on a 3x3 grid. One of the squares on he grid is left open for purposes of displaying directions. The other 8 sqaures on the grid must be matched into four pairs. A match is made by selecting two of the squares and then tapping on the Check Match button. A square is selected by simply tapping on it; the square is outlined in red once it is selected. If you change your mind, tap it a second time to deselect it. Whenever two squares are selected, the Check Match button is displayed in the right-side column of the Concept Builder. When you are satisfied with your two selections, tap on the Check Match button. Your answers will be evalutated. If correct, the two squares are color-coded with the same color and can no longer be selected for the remainder of the Matching Pairs game. If your match is incorrect, you will unfortunately have to start the game over. But don't fear, it will be the same eight items being displayed at a different location on the grid. Once you have made four successful matches, you will be rewarded the Trophy for that difficulty level.

In the second activity - Law Breakers - you are presented with three sets of values for the four quantum numbers. You have to evaluate each set to determine if it violates the rules for allowed quantum number values. Tap on any set that has unallowed values.Tapping on a set selects it (a set of bars is laid on top of that set). Tapping a second time deselects that set. Once you select on one or more sets, a Check Answer button appears. Once you are satisfied with your answer, tap on the Check Answer button. Your answer will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated.

In the third activity - Two Truths and a Lie- you are presented with three statements about wave motion. Two of the statements are true and one of them is a false statement. You must identify the false statement. You do so by tapping on the statement. Tapping on the statement will select it; a grey box surrounds the statement and a Check Answer button appears. If you change your mind, you can tap on the statement a second time to deselect it or tap on a different statement. Once you are satisfied with your answer, tap on the Check Answer button. Your answers will be evaluated and your Progress Reportwill be updated.

Your goal is to earn "Stars" and to complete one or more activities. Stars are earned when you show success on a particular question. Once you show success on all the questions for a particular activity, you will earn the Trophy for that activity.
