Physics Classroom is making strides to make our site accessible to everyone. Our site contains 6 navigation areas. The Primary, Secondary, and Page Level navigations have a screen reader version of their nav structure that allows using the left and right keys to navigate sibling navigation items, and up or down keys to navigate parent or child navigation items. The others can be navigated using tabs. The Primary Navigation handles the first 2 levels of site pages. The Secondary (which is not always available) handles the 3rd and 4th level of structure. The Page level navigation allows you to navigate the current page's headings quickly. The Header Navigation contains the Light/Dark Mode toggle, Search, Notifications and account login. The Breadcrumb Navigation contains the breadcrumb of the current page. If the current page has a breadcrumb, you can get to it by skipping to the content and tabbing in reverse (shift plus tab). The Footer Navigation contains links such as Privacy, Contact, about and terms. Some resources contain an Audio Player that can be activated by holding down the T key for 3 seconds, and then using K to pause and resume. While not every area of Physics Classroom is usable purely from keyboard and screen reader, we are committed to continue work on making this possible. If you have questions or need additional help, please use this link to contact us.

Molarity Calculations - Directions

Using the Molarity Calculations Concept Builder is quite simple. There are three activities in all. In the first activity - Case Studies - you are given the amount of solute and the volume of water for an aqueous solution. You will have to identify which solution has the greatest molarity and by what factor it is greatest. You do this by tapping on text fields ... which by default read Tap Me. Tap to toggle through the answer options. Once you have an answer option selected for both answer fields, the Check Answer button will be visible. If you are satisfied with your choice of answers, tap on the Check Answer button. Your answer will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated.

In the second activity - Solution ID - you are given information about the amount of solute (in either grams or moles) and the volume of water for three different aqueous solutions. You have to identify which of the three have a specified molarity. There can be more than one answer. Tap on the solution information to select it. Once selected it will be enclosed by a red rectangle. Tapping a second time deselects it and removes the rectangle. Tap on all that apply. As long as at least one solution is selected, a Check Answer button will be visible. If you are satisfied with your choice of answers, tap on the Check Answer button. Your answer will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated.

In the third activity - Solution ID - you are given the mass of a solute with an indicated formula and the volume of water in an aqueous solution. You will have to calculate the moles of solute, the volume of solution in Liters, and the molarity of the solution. You can enter your answers directly into the blanks. Alternatively (especially useful if working on a phone or tablet) you can tap on the number pad icon and use a built-in number pad to enter your answers into the field. You can check your answers one answer field at a time or all at once. If correct, a green check mark will be displayed next to the answer field and the field can no longer be changed. You are allowed as many tries as needed to get the three answers correct. There is no penalty for missing.

Your goal is to earn "Stars" and to complete one or more activities. Stars are earned when you show success on a particular question. Once you show success on all the questions for a particular activity, you will earn the trophy for that activity.
