Physics Classroom is making strides to make our site accessible to everyone. Our site contains 6 navigation areas. The Primary, Secondary, and Page Level navigations have a screen reader version of their nav structure that allows using the left and right keys to navigate sibling navigation items, and up or down keys to navigate parent or child navigation items. The others can be navigated using tabs. The Primary Navigation handles the first 2 levels of site pages. The Secondary (which is not always available) handles the 3rd and 4th level of structure. The Page level navigation allows you to navigate the current page's headings quickly. The Header Navigation contains the Light/Dark Mode toggle, Search, Notifications and account login. The Breadcrumb Navigation contains the breadcrumb of the current page. If the current page has a breadcrumb, you can get to it by skipping to the content and tabbing in reverse (shift plus tab). The Footer Navigation contains links such as Privacy, Contact, about and terms. Some resources contain an Audio Player that can be activated by holding down the T key for 3 seconds, and then using K to pause and resume. While not every area of Physics Classroom is usable purely from keyboard and screen reader, we are committed to continue work on making this possible. If you have questions or need additional help, please use this link to contact us.

Gibb's Free Energy - Directions

Using the Gibbs's Free Energy Concept Builder is quite simple. There are three difficulty levels, each of which involves the same type of task - providing a numerical answer to complete a table. Additionally, each level includes 4-5 Tap Me! buttons that must be used to identify a reaction as being spontaneous (Yes) or non-spontaneous (No). Numerical values can be entered into a blank cell of a table by tapping on the colored rectangle. A number pad will pop up on the right margin of the Concept Builder. Tap on the buttons of the number pad to enter your answer. When you're done entering your answer, you can tap on the Close Pad to close the number pad. Alternatively, you can tap on a different blank cell and enter the answer for that blank. At any time that you wish to check your entered answers, tap on the Check Answer button. Your entered answers will be evaluated and your progress will be updated. You can tap on the Tap Me buttons to identify whether the reaction is spontaneous or not. Tapping toggles your selected answer back and forth between spontaneous and non-spontaneous. A color-coded system is used to indicate your progress. Correct answers will be displayed on a green-colored cell. Incorrect answers will be displayed on a pink-colored cell. Grey cells indicate an answer that has not yet been checked or is simply blank. A yellow-colored cell is an answer that is in the process of being entered but not yet checked. Once all your answers have been correctly entered, you will be rewarded the Trophy for that difficulty level (Task Tracker users only). (For Guest users, you will simply be returned to the Main Menu.)
