Angular Acceleration - Directions
Using the Angular Acceleration Concept Builder is quite simple. There are three different activities, each with a slightly different emphasis. In each activity you will be presented with a question that you will have to answer.
In the first activity - Getting an Angle on Acceleration - you will be given information about a rotating object and be asked to determine whether an object has an angular acceleration or not. Tap on one of the two provided buttons to pick your answer. If you change your mind, you can tap on the other button to select it instead or tap on the first button to deselect it. As long as an answer is selected, a Check Answer button appears. If you are satisfied with your answer, tap on the Check Answer button. Your answer will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated (for Task Tracker users).
In the second activity - +, -, or 0 - you will be given a short description of a rotating object and be asked to determine the sign on the angular velocity and the angular acceleration. You pick your answer by tapping on one of the three buttons for each quantity - Positive, Negative, or Zero. If you change your mind, you can tap on another button to select it instead or tap on the first button to deselect it. As long as an answer is selected for both the angular velocity and the angular acceleration, a Check Answer button appears. If you are satisfied with your answer, tap on the Check Answer button. Your answer will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated (for Task Tracker users).
In the third activity - Crunching the Numbers - you are given numerical information about the angular velocity and time. You must use the information to calculate the angular acceleration. You must enter your answer into the provided answer field. You can do so by tapping in the field and using your device keyboard to enter your numerical answer. Do not include a +/- sign. Alternatively, you can tap on the miniature number pad button to pop up our built-in number pad. This is ideal for mobile devices so that the mobile keyboard does not cover any part of the question. Use our built-in number pad to enter your answer. Once you are satisfied with your answer, tap on the Check Answer button. Your answer will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated (for Task Tracker users).
Your goal is to answer questions, earn "Stars" (Task Tracker users), and to complete one or more activities. Stars are earned when you show success on a particular question. Once you show success on all the questions for a particular activity, you will earn the Trophy for that activity.
