Charging by Induction - Directions

Using the Charging by Induction Concept Builder is quite simple. You will be presented with a description of a charging process that describes two steps - a polarization step and a charging step. You can tap on the View Animation button to view the process. Once the process is animated, you can tap the Return to Question button. The animation can be viewed as many times as needed. You have two questions that you must answer. You answer the questions by tapping on the diagrams located below the labels Step 1: Polarization and Step 2: Charging. Each tap on the diagram toggles one of 8 possible explanations of what is happening in each of these two steps. The explanation is expressed in words below the diagram and in the form of arrows showing movement of electrons or protons on the diagram itself. Once you have selected an answer option for both questions, a Check Answer button appears. You can continue tapping until you are viewing your preferred options. Once all eight options have been displayed, continued tapping cycles back to the first option. When you are satisfied with your answer choices, tap on the Check Answer button. Your answers will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated.

Your goal is to earn "Stars" and to complete one or more levels of difficulty. Stars are earned when you show success on a particular question. Once you show success on all the questions at a particular difficulty level, you will earn the reward for that level.
