Mission CM5 Periodic Table of Elements

Mission CM5 pertains to the periodic table. Students must be comfortable with the organization of the table, including the group number, period, and atomic number; the metals, nonmetals, and metalloids; and the most common families of elements. The mission consists of 36 questions organized into 9 Question Groups.

Learning Outcomes

  • The student should be able to identify the group number and the period number and the atomic number for any location on the periodic table.
  • The student should be able to identify the various groups of the periodic table (alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, halogens, and noble gases)
  • The student should be able to identify the metals (including transition metals), nonmetals, and metalloids of the periodic table.
