Mission MAM3 Electron Energy Levels

Mission MAM3 pertains to the ordering of orbitals by energy and the rules describing how the orbitals fill with electrons. The mission consists of 36 questions organized into 9 Question Groups.

• The student should be able to identify the various energy sublevels for each energy level (or n value) and the relative ordering of those sublevels by energy value.
• The student should be able to use the Aufbau principle, Hund's rule, and the Pauli exclusion principle to predict the order in which electrons enter various orbitals.
