Mission AB2 Strong Acids and Strong Bases

Mission AB2 pertains to strong acids and bases. Students must know what a strong acid (and base) is, be able to identify common examples of strong acids and strong bases, know what a dissociation equation is, and perform simple computations to determine the ion concentrations if given the concentration of a strong acid (or base) solution. The mission consists of 36 questions organized into 9 Question Groups.

Learning Outcomes

  • The student should be able to explain what a strong acid and a strong base is and identify examples of each.
  • The student should be able to write dissociation equations for strong acids and strong bases and identify the ion concentrations when given the concentration of the acid or the base.
