Teacher Resources

The Physics Classroom has been devoted to helping students, teachers, and classrooms since the 1990s. We are as passionate about that mission now as we have ever been. If you are a teacher of Physics or Physical Science, we encourage you to use our Video Tutorial with your students. And we also encourage you to consider the use of other resources on our website that coordinate with the video. We have listed a few below to help you get started.

Curriculum Corner, Work, Energy, and Power Section: Energy

Get students active and thinking with one of our free Think Sheets from the Curriclum Corner section of our website. The following makes a good fit to this video:

Work-Energy Bar Charts

Teacher Toolkits, Work-Energy Relationships

Try a Teacher Toolkit ... you might be very glad that you did. Each toolkit includes annotated links to vetted resources from across the web that we feel reliably support the specific topic. Give this one on work and energy a try.

Physics Interactives, Work and Energy section, Chart That Motion

This concept-building activity provides 11 different scenarios and you must match each to the corresponding work-energy bar chart. This is great practice for students.

Minds On Physics, Work and Energy Module, Mission WE6

We are particularly fond of this mission from our Minds On Physics program. It combines an interactive equation with a bar chart selection. Students  must tap on equation terms to cancel 0 terms and then select the bar chart that matches the stated motion. It's a great follow-up to the video. And with our Task Tracker program, you can track students' completion of the exercise.

Concept Builders, Work and Energy section, Match That Bar Chart

Concept Builders are always great for ... building concepts. This one stands up to the claim. Students are given a motion scenario and must tap through about 5 or so options of bar charts that match the scenario. Great thinking. Great learning. And with our Task Tracker program, you can track students' completion of the exercise.

Our written Tutorial section is the go-to place to freshen up on a concept. This page is the written equivalent (more or less) of the video. You can place a link to the page on your Course page.
